The MYMY line of furniture

While travelling in South-East Asia, Olivia de Pazzis Hanemian fell in love with the traditional Burmese art of craftmenship. It inspired her a whole line of furniture successfully combining French contemporary design and traditional Burmese art and craft. She called the line MYMY.

MYMY (MY Myanmar & You), the new name in the world of design and furniture, has been launched early 2016 at the Maison & Objet exhibition in Paris by Olivia de Pazzis Hanemian in partnership with Jean Hanemian and Hnin Aye Neyin and Erwan Croixmarie, a Franco-burmese couple specializing in interior design.

All MyMyanmar&you furniture is made from high quality traditional timber, combining the massiveness of solid teak with the suppleness of bamboo. All the wood used has been seasoned for many years in timber yards in Yangon, the former capital city of Burma, present-day Myanmar. They are hand-lacquered by local craftsmen according to the best of Burmese tradition. From the very falling of the timber to the delivery of the manufactured products, the MYMY line is observing the latest environmental requirements.

Olivia de Pazzis Hanemian’s MYMY creations include, among others, solid wooden trucks, hand-lacquered coffee table with natural lacquer, as well as folding screens in solid teak, equipped with slot-in tray-shelves covered with Burmese fabrics.
