Docteur Lot medical center

A successful conversion

FRANCE - Levallois-Perret

The commission successfully undertaken by AIM Hanemian Architects in this project was to merge a number of separate apartments located in Levallois-Perret and transform them into a medical centre.

There was both a technical and an aesthetic challenge. With the ventilation of the medical premises not corresponding to the ventilation of traditional accommodation, it was necessary to create a central duct for extraction and ventilation around which everything else is organized. This cylindrical duct has been used as the main decorative feature for the entire premises. Separate waiting areas and the reception desk are sited around it.

The central area, which has no windows and is given over to patients, is thus perfectly ventilated. Each medical consulting room is completely sound proofed and separately ventilated via the central duct.

Traditional ‘noble’ materials are used for the decoration: wood and marble, with inserted shards of coloured glass. Stainless steel and leather complete the desired effect of creating a warm and welcoming mood conducive to relaxation. The convivial atmosphere is further enhanced by the coloured lighting scheme.
