The AXA Building

Elegance and refinement

FRANCE - Paris

From Baron Haussmann to our time there is a common thread – the search for elegance and refinement.

This building in the 8th arrondissement has been renovated by the AIM Hanemian Architects Agency while preserving its period character. The fine lines of the main staircase in the style of the grand staircases of great public buildings, the glass roof allowing light to pour in to the top floor cleared of all walls and partitions, and the varnished MDF wall panels: these features combine to create an ambiance that is sober, refined and contemporary.

The main entrance to the building has been moved from the old coaching entrance to the grand courtyard to allow visitors an access that is easier and clearer. The monumental staircase, which has acquired a strongly contemporary character, can be seen through the French windows.
